The RTD Series Precision RTD (Resistance Temperature Detector) Simulator provides a very broad-range of absolute resistance values that calibrate RTD’s and thermocouples. Thermocouples present a resistance that depends on the temperature.
The RTD simulator effectively replaces an RTD to test, analyze, and calibrate RTD measuring systems. The RTD Series simulator is a precision resistance source with excellent characteristics of accuracy, stability, temperature coefficient, and power coefficient. All these features serve to make it a laboratory resistance standard, exceeded in performance only by stand-alone standard resistors.
The special design of the RTD Series provides absolute accuracy, and requires no zero resistance subtraction from any setting Special design of the RTD virtually eliminate zero resistance and switch contact variations, providing the specified absolute accuracy over the entire range.
The RTD Simulator series is available in 4 models that vary by resistance range and precision. The RTD-Z is the choice for the most demanding RTD Simulation applications. These units have a 50 ppm (0.005%) absolute accuracy. The RTD-X series is more cost effective but still quite precise with a 100 ppm (0.01%) absolute accuracy
All RTD Simulator models have 6 decades. The units either have a 1 mΩ resolution with a max resistance of 1,000 Ω, which is best for PT-100 or a 10 mΩ resolution with a max resistance of 10,000 Ω, which is best for PT-1000’s. The minimum resistance, or the lowest you can dial the unit, for all models is 10 Ω.
